Hi, I'm Rose!
I'm a nature poet, herb witch, illustrator and forager from the British Isles. I mostly write poetry and illustrate them in the way my child-self would have liked to see.
I graduated from the Courtauld Institute of Art in 2020, after specialising in digital studies of online communication. I also spent a lot of my degree studying architecture.
I moved to Yorkshire in 2020 and now write poetry and make linoprints. My poetry is inspired by British history, Shakespeare's descriptions of nature and witchcraft, Freudian & Jungian psychoanalysis and my own spiritual practices.
Hamlet: Swear by my sword
Never to speak of this that you have heard.
Ghost: [Beneath] Swear by his sword.
Hamlet: Well said, old mole, canst work i' th' earth so fast?
A worthy pioner! Once more remove, good friends.
Horatio: O day and night, but this is wondrous strange!
Hamlet: And therefore as a stranger give it welcome.
There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
I also recently graduated from an RHS practical horticulture course - growing and gardening is an important part of my creative practice. I am particularly interested in medicinal herbalism, and can often be found Yarrow-chasing by roadsides.
